A website usually has more than one person looking after it. The business owner, an office manager, an outside SEO agency and sometimes someone who just needs to see the numbers. The console gives each of them the right level of access.
The four client levels
- Owner runs the account: everything, including users, email settings and tracking connections.
- Manager is for internal managers: pages, blog, SEO, enquiries and tickets, without changing users or settings.
- Partner is for SEO or other agencies: pages, blog, media and SEO, with no access to enquiries, which hold customers' personal details.
- Viewer can look around but cannot change anything.
And one for us
Developer access is for our own team. It is set on the server, so it cannot be given away or removed by accident from inside the console.
Hidden, not just greyed out
If a level has no access to an area, that area disappears from the menu and the dashboard. A partner agency never sees an enquiry, not even in a summary.
