Google PageSpeed Insights tests a website the way a visitor on a mid-range phone would experience it, and gives it four scores out of 100. Every website we hand over scores at least 90 on all four, on the mobile test, which is the strictest one.
The four scores
- Performance: how quickly the page appears and becomes usable, especially on a phone with an ordinary connection.
- Accessibility: whether people using screen readers, keyboards or larger text can use the page properly.
- Best practices: security and quality checks, such as an encrypted connection and no errors in the browser.
- SEO: the basics search engines need, such as page titles, descriptions and pages Google is allowed to read.
Why it matters
A fast, accessible website is simply more pleasant to use. Visitors find what they came for without waiting, more people can use it comfortably, and search engines can understand it. For a business, that means a better first impression with every visitor, whichever device they use.
How we get there
Our websites are hand-built as plain, finished pages, with no page builder or plugin stack loading in the background. Images are sized for each screen, fonts are served from the website itself, and nothing loads that the page does not need.
How the console keeps it there
A website can be fast on launch day and slow a year later. The console is designed to prevent that. Clients edit words, not code, so a change cannot add weight to the page. The dashboard shows the latest Google scores, uptime is checked every five minutes, and an alert goes out if anything slips.
